The word 'posture' signifies state of mind, position, attitude, situation, condition or pose. The video investigates the anonymous authority used by the social institutions. In Posture, the characters are not shown all the time, the focus is on (mental) space and architecture. The scenes are filmed in actual locations at school, hospital and home to show how people defense and protect their selfhood various ways.

Marika Orenius is a PhD from the Aalto University School of Art, Design and Architecture. Orenius graduated from the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts, with additional studies at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris and the Valand School of Fine Arts at the University of Gothenburg. She works with moving image, photography, drawing, performance art and installation art. She has participated in exhibitions, festivals and screenings in Finland and internationally since the mid-1990s.
