Paths
Orenius Marika
Two-channel installation Paths deals with societal, mental and psychological structures that control our lives – from birth until our final days. Social situations and architectural solutions are filmed in a school, a hospital, an airport and an office. Authorities, social situations, even architectural solutions are examined. The installation emphasizes the unconscious and dreams as counterparts to the parameters of society through spaces without organized supervision like home, nature or sleep.
