Orenius Marika
'Desire' is an experimental short film, based on split projections. It presents two different images simultaneously side by side. The visual lightness and the music video style creates contrast to the cynical, even bitter attitude of the text. A transformation in the image expresses the twist in the plot.

Marika Orenius is a PhD from the Aalto University School of Art, Design and Architecture. Orenius graduated from the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts, with additional studies at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris and the Valand School of Fine Arts at the University of Gothenburg. She works with moving image, photography, drawing, performance art and installation art. She has participated in exhibitions, festivals and screenings in Finland and internationally since the mid-1990s.
