There Is A Lot Of Joy, Too.
Lecklin Johanna
The two-channel installation is about the meeting of two realities. The work is structured around a fictive dialogue between a boy and his mother. They are never together in the same shot but are placed next to each other physically. The boy speaks about his daydreams and wishes of becoming a Hollywood star. The mother talks about him and about her experiences as the mother of a child with special needs. The script is based upon recorded discussions with a boy who has Asperger’s Syndrome.
