Minna Parkkinen
Born: 1964
Minna Parkkinen (lives and works in Turku) is a visual artist and filmmaker. Parkkinen has extensive prior experience in hand-developed film, but is currently working on digital film formats. Her works deal with human emotion and the subconscious mind, and her films have been characterized as poetic. In recent years, Parkkinen has also transferred the images in her films to other materials such as concrete and plexiglass. She has exhibited solo exhibitions at the Gallery Forum Box in Helsinki and the Art Center in Mältinranta in collaboration with the Tampere Film Festival. Her films have been shown at more than 30 international film festivals and galleries. The film Circle was awarded with an honorable mention at the Hamburg Film Festival.
