Soukka Saku

Stream brings up dialogue between exterior and interior as well as between movement and stagnation. Sections related to the sea, airports and to the other public transports visualise movement and nostalgia of the universe while on the other hand the character is inside “doing nothing”.

Saku Soukka works mostly with film and photography. He has a master's degree of visual arts from the Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki 2016, and he has studied photography as well. Encounters and dialogues between the organic and industrial, internal and external, as well as stagnation and movement are present in his art. He has had about 25 solo exhibitions and participated in about 30 group exhibitions in Finland, Italy, Spain, Mexico, Hungary, Netherlands, South Korea and Germany. Now he is making his first feature-length documentary film about the Extinction Rebellion Finland. Soukka’ss artworks are autofictive, narrative and documentary in style, and they have often combined text, image and sound, e.g. video works, photo and poetry book Paperipeili (Noxboox, 2016) and audio poems. His passion is to create works that are psychologically profound, poetic and visually fascinating.
