Original sin

Initially installed in a shop-front display window, ‘Original Sin’ focuses on addiction to pleasure. The tension between controlling pleasure-centeredness vs. the need to do what is forbidden creates a starting point for viewing human attributes such transgression, or the tendency for slow self-destruction.

Juhani Koivumäki graduated with M.A degree from the academy of fine arts in Helsinki in 2008. He has 17 years of experience in working with media art. He has held solo exhibitions and hosted workshops for young people and children in Finland and abroad. Many of his films have been screened at international and domestic film festivals and screenings since 2002. Koivumäki’s central themes deal often with colliding interests between human society and individual. Koivumäki lives in Helsinki, Finland.
