Myllylä Salla

The animation depicts the movement of light and shadow in two realities: in a charcoal drawing of a landscape and in the studio where the drawing is being made. In both of them, we see how sunlight moves around during a day.

Salla Myllylä lives and works in Helsinki. She graduated from Free Art School in 2009 and from the Academy of Fine Arts, University of the Arts Helsinki in 2014. Her work moves between drawing, painting and moving images, and is always site specific. Myllylä’s works have been presented in exhibitions at e.g. Gallery Huuto Jätkäsaari in Helsinki (2015, 2013), Frankfurter Kunstverein (2014), Charlottenborg Kunsthal in Copenhagen (2017, 2012) and in festivals such as Tampere Film Festival (2016), Japan Media Arts Festival (2016) and ja Minimalen Short Film Festival in Trondheim (2016).
