Heavy Skirt

Hukkataival Helinä

Tradition and learned habits can be so strong that one cannot even think of different or new possibilities. In the video performance, a woman in closed surroundings is doing her everyday tasks. She recognises the pressure of tradition and decides to get rid of it, even if she could not know what will come after this step forward and upward. The soundscape of a modern big city influences her decision and underlines it.
