Landscape (Oja)

Marjatta Oja

The installation of 'Landscape' consists of a cuboid, canvas covered steel frame mounted on a wall, on one side is video projection and on the other is a printed reproduction of a Constable painting. The painting depicts a female figure in a forest, walking towards a clearing, in the video the artist herself walks across a landscape from right to left. The light from the projection passes onto the opposite surface of the painting, and as the scale of the two figures is approximate, the figure in the video appears within Constable’s landscape.
