Landscape (Oja)
Oja Marjatta
The installation consists of a cuboid, which is covered with transparent canvas. Cuboid is strenghtened with a steel frame and mounted on a wall. There is a video projection inside the cube, and on the surface a printed reproduction of a Constable painting. The painting depicts a female figure in a forest, walking towards a clearing. In the video, the artist herself walks across a landscape from right to left. The light from the projection passes through the surface of the painting, and as the scale of the two figures is the same, the figure in the video appears within Constable’s landscape.
