Sheung Yiu (b. 1991, Hong Kong) is an image-centered artist and a doctoral researcher in photography, based in Helsinki. Yiu explores imaging practices emerging at the intersection of photography and large-scale computation, from facial recognition to remote sensing. Yiu tells digital fables about computer vision through excavating and aestheticizing large-scale vision datasets, to problematize the assumption that human vision is a computable problem.
