Thy Father
Suoniemi Minna
In Thy Father (Isääsi), a teenager encounters a frail old man and supports him with all of his strength. The camera pans over the ground covered in decaying leaves and returns to the encounter between the protagonists. The soundtrack surrounds the young and old man with a threatening ambience. The work reveals aging as an inevitable decay and transgenerational cycle in nature. The Finnish title Isääsi can be read from beginning to end and end to beginning.
