The scientists claim that the microexpressions can tell us whether a person is lying or not. However, in order to be desirable, to manage in social situations and to give a positive impression, women have to smile.

Maria Ylikoski (born in 1966) is a video artist working in Helsinki, Finland. Along with photography she has made videos and video installations since 1998. In her videos she deals with the themes of growing up, family relations and memory. Ylikoski graduated from Finnish Academy of Fine Arts in 2011 with a master's degree in moving image. She has also studied photography in Turku School of Art and Communication (1995) and in The School of Photography and Film at Gothenburg University (1998). She works as a teacher of audio-visual media.
