AV-arkki promotes and archives Finnish and Finland-based artists’ moving image works in various forms: single channel, installations, live works and online based art. Our online archive is a versatile library and database of Finnish media art. Several international and domestic curators, programmers, researches and other professional are interested in our archive in its depth and breadth. We send all single channel acquisitions for long-time preservation to the National Audiovisual Institution (KAVI) on a yearly basis.
Submit your new (and old) works for the selection process of our online archive with this form before May 9th, 2025! We need a preview link and basic information of the work. We will ask master files and stills later, after the selections have been made.
Each artist can offer one work per year to the AV-arkki archive free of charge. For more works, an archiving fee of 30 euros per work selected for the archive is charged. New members can offer several works to the AV-arkki archive at once, in which case the archiving fee is 50 euros in total, including 2–7 works.
You can propose a work that is just being completed, but you must already have an idea of its entirety. A trailer or illustrative images alone are not enough. If necessary, you can ask the AV-ark staff for consultation regarding, for example, color grading, subtitles and sound design.
