If we want to go into space, we must take plants with us. In the video, a plant grows inside a space capsule–shaped environment. Light rotates around the capsule on a 48-hour cycle. At times, the light passes behind red filters, creating short periods of night for the plant. The plant grows according to a unique circadian rhythm that is not typical on Earth. The experiment acclimates the plant to the day–night cycles of other celestial bodies. The experiment is shown in the video twice, using two different plants.
