The work’s low bass and polyrhythmic tapping, combined with computer-generated animated light, create a focused atmosphere. Linear light behind a transparent sphere, combined with digital noise, defines the visual character of the work. In a computer environment, light does not behave as it does in reality. It is controlled through different parameters than those we are using with real light.

Ilkka Paloniemi is originally from Kemi and currently works in Espoo in the fields of light and media art. Master of Theatre Arts (TeM) degree from the Lighting and Sound Design programme.
Paloniemi’s artistic practice often explores artificial light created by humans and the contexts surrounding it. His current media include neon, lasers, and entirely artificial light manipulated in digital environments. Sound also frequently plays a role in his works.
Paloniemi has participated in numerous group exhibitions and festivals in Finland and abroad, and his works are held in private collections. In addition to his artistic practice, he works as a designer and curator in the fields of light art, installation art, and performing arts.
