Lehtonen Braun Niina

The work is a collection of 19 video postcards from both important and everyday moments of the film-maker's life. The postcards portray memories of being with friends and family, lost moments and staged events. They were filmed in Finland, Vienna, Berlin and Bayern in 2000–2009.

Niina Lehtonen Braun is a Berlin based visual artist and a performer, originally from Helsinki, Finland. Her strong visual world is based on her unique way of combining and rearranging texts and photos with her ink paintings and drawings. Lehtonen Braun has exhibited in several international venues, including Paper Gallery (Manchester, UK, 2019) Haus am Lützowplatz, (Berlin, Germany, 2019), Sinne Gallery (Helsinki, Finland, 2014) and Torrance Art Museum, (CA, USA, 2018). She is also a part of a performance group JOKAklubi, which is a camp-spirited group known for their visually rich, wild shows, which combine guest stars, music and talk show. Lehtonen Braun has published two art books: Mother Said (Kerber Verlag, 2013) and These Foolish Things Remind Me Of You (Kerber Verlag, 2016).
