Mourning
Halinen Kaisaleena
When we lose a loved one, we live with the constant presence of absence. In the film, a person engages in grief work, assembling a mold of their loved one; each piece of the mold is like a fragment of memory. Putting the pieces together is an impossible attempt to make the memory whole and to get closer to the loved one. The act of assembling is also comforting and makes it possible to grieve.
