Degrowth explores possibilities of degrowth economy in Salo, Finland. Salo is a town in economical turmoil due to Nokia factory's layoffs that took place at the time of the shooting. Could degrowth or downshifting enable a new era of happiness in Salo? The video documentary shares thoughts from scientists and Salo residents. The imagery consists of existing degrowth ideas like local bio-organic farming, renting services, and local traveling. The video has a sequel called Happiness.

Mari Keski-Korsu is a transdisciplinary artist. She holds an MA from University of Arts and Design Helsinki and BA in visual arts from Polytechnic of Western Lapland. She explores how ecological and socio-economical changes are manifested in people’s everyday life and her works often have a societal or political nature. Keski-Korsu’s practise contains interventions, documentary, performance, virtual worlds, photography, live visualisations and installations as well as mixtures of these. The works has been exhibited in Europe and in several other countries around the world.
