Fracturen
Renvall Markus, Kangasmaa Tuomo
The Palmqvist Method, named after a Swedish scholar Sven Robert Palmqvist, is a common method to determine the fracture toughness for cemented carbides. Similarly, Renvall’s and Kangasmaa’s project examines the artistic and social fractures by means of music and video art. Experimental music video Fracture is the first work published under the name of The Palmqvist Method. The video is a result of a process where something that started as a narrative short film resulted in a music video. Fracture questions the generic limits of the music video by asking whether this is what it claims to be.
