Biodrunk Story 1955-2024

Haarla Teuri

The work progresses through three conceptual stages. The first stage depicts a confrontation with raw and unsettling experiences, described as a "purge" of non-entertaining, disquieting material. The second stage, An Extreme Sense of Void, emphasizes isolation and existential contemplation. In the third stage, the film addresses a deeper descent into vulnerability, illustrating the confrontation with fear and the inevitable encounter with fundamental truths.

Through this structure, the documentary investigates the artist’s engagement with truth, endurance, and the search for meaning within both personal and cultural landscapes.

The documentary explores the survival and creative process of the artist Teuri Haarla, situated within the context of contemporary Finland. The film examines the ethical imperative of the artist: "Help others, tell the truth." It portrays the challenges of confronting and presenting difficult, unvarnished realities.
