Sea Ice is melting. Ice blocks crack and move with waves. There is both silent visual beauty and horror of the ice and the sea surface. Slowly, the idea of the Climate Change starts to dominate this suggestive silent flow of images.

Visual artist Renja Leino (b 1958) works with multidisciplinary mediums, mainly photography, video, and site-specific installation.Her focus is on contemporary phenomena and existential questions on the complex relationship between nature and humans. Currently, her subject matter is the sea, and its elements – and the change. Based on the island of Korpo since 1990 she is strongly influenced of the archipelago nature. Since 1998, Renja Leino works as a senior lecturer in photography in the Arts Academy of Turku University of Applied Sciences. She is also residency founder and director of the international Archipelago Art Residency in Korpo, AARK since 2015. Her works are acquired e.g. in the Finnish State Art Collection, The Finnish Museum of Photography, EMMA - Espoo Museum of Modern Art.
