101 For All

Kalleinen Tellervo, Kochta-Kalleinen Oliver

The one hundred participants in the project represent a statistical cross-section of the Finnish population. The artists visited the participant’s homes over a period of six months and interviewed them about 30 divisive issues. One viewer at a time can control the view of the work by selecting from the 30 propositions, and then choosing the person or people whose statements interest them. Sometimes people who are statistically in the same category, on the basis of their responses, come to their conclusions through completely different motivations.
