The Savokasälpä – Experimental Music and Film from Finland tour in St. Petersburg and Moscow

The Savokasälpä – Experimental Music and Film from Finland tour presents the work of the film director, artist and musician Mika Taanila and composer, musician and media artist Anton Nikkilä from different stages of their careers – both their individual projects and joint ventures as well as works realised together with Russian partners. The programme takes Place in Moscow and St. Petersburg from November 23–29.

The programme in Moscow and St. Petersburg includes Sny futurista (“Dreams of a Futurist”), a large retrospective of Mika Taanila’s films, music videos and video installations curated by Boris Nelepo; Anton Nikkilä’s quadraphonic film performance Literal Translations; Swissair’s split-screen super-8 film Hermaphrodites; the photo concert Before the Evroremont 2.0 by Alexei Borisov & Anne Hämäläinen, and concerts by Modern Feelings, Pakasteet & Alexei Borisov and Pakasteet & Ilia Belorukov. The tour extends to two other cities near Moscow – Tula and Zelenograd – where the programme features Hermaphrodites, Before the Evroremont 2.0 and Modern Feelings.
