Maija Tammi’s The Problem of the Hydra (2020) was selected for the European Shorts Competition at Sarajevo Film Festival, held from August 13–20 2021. The screening of The Problem of the Hydra takes place on Wednesday, August 18 in Cineplexx Sarajevo 2.
Screened previously at Hot Docs and awarded at THIS IS SHORT, The Problem of the Hydra is an experimental documentary film about the practical and metaphysical problems a small fresh-water polyp, known as Hydra, has caused since the 1700s to the present day. Contrary to most animals, Hydra vulgaris does not age – at all.
