Risto-Pekka Blom‘s Too Blue a Sky is selected for OFF – Odense International Film Festival, taking place in from August 24–30, 2026 in Odense, Denmark. The film is screened in the documentary competition DOC3.
OFF – Odense International Film Festival is Denmark’s only Oscar-, EFA-, and Robert-qualifying short film festival. Founded in 1975, it is the oldest film festival in Denmark.
Too Blue a Sky (2026) is a story about money, power, exploitation and many possible ends to the world. Some people yearn for Mars, others for Heaven. Some dance the humppa on the Moon. In this short, tragicomic play, each of us has our own little part.
Risto-Pekka Blom (b. 1970) is a filmmaker who navigates the intersection of media and film art. Over the course of his career, he has created over a dozen short films that have received recognition at prestigious events such as the Tampere Film Festival, Norwegian Short Film Festival, and Cork International Film Festival. Blom’s work is characterized by his experimental approach to form and narrative, as he strives to explore and strengthen his unique voice. Common themes woven throughout his works encompass the human experience and the sense of alienation, social justice, and the external expectations placed upon individuals regarding how life should be lived. Most of his works also incorporate humor, emerging from a profound seriousness.
