Karolina Kucia’s We Bites Us awarded the Clublum Award for best experimental short film at Pornfilmfestival Berlin

Karolina Kucia’s We Bites Us (2023, in featured image) has been awarded the Clublum Award for the best experimental short film at Pornfilmfestival Berlin. The festival was held from October 25–29, 2023.

The festival states: “With a colorful scenario and crazy “characters” along with combined techniques is a twisted story of unique layers that left us absolutely stunned by its originality and fascinating confusion. The winner of the Clublum Award for the best experimental short film goes to We Bite Us by Karolina Kucia.”

In We Bites Us: Common… Public…Private… Bodily fluids and body parts seem to have life on their own, rebellious, foreign and unwilling. A group wanders through a monstrous shape-shifting reality, in the grey zone in between life and death, the present and the future, the human, cannibal, and cyborg existence.

Karolina Kucia (she/her) is Polish born and Helsinki-based visual artist working with moving images in relation to object making and performative interventions. She is currently a doctoral candidate in artistic research at the Theatre Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki.
