Images of her hands opening and closing the cameras and clips from 8mm shot in Southern Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego are shown.

The screening of Retrospective takes place on Friday March 24 at 18:00 in the main theatre of Cinémathèque québécoise.

Mika Taanila: Tectonic Plate (2016)

Mika Taanila’s Tectonic Plate had its world premiere in Forum Expanded series of Berlin International Film Festival. It is a camera-less lettrist film about fear of flying, security checks and time zones. After returning from a trip to Tokyo, the protagonist is stuck at a hotel nearby the Helsinki airport. The use of various technical devices, slivers the time-management and modifies the jet-lagged consciousness.

The screenings of Tectonic Plate take place on Friday March 24 at 20:45 in the main theatre of Cinémathèque québécoise and on Saturday April 1 at 18:00 at UQAM, Salle Jean-Claude Lauzon.
