Finnish media art at Chronotop Festival, Vyborg

CYLAND MediaArtLab presents a video art exhibition and screenings as a part of the Chronotop Summer Festival in Vyborg, Russia, held from June 25 – September 25. The programme includes several works from Finnish artists.

The exhibition takes place in an old, 1930s water tower Vodonapornaya Bashnya. The exhibition is curated by Viktoria Ilyushkina and Dasha Dafis and supported by the Finnish Institute in St. Petersburg. The programme includes Saara Ekström’s Amplifier (2017, in featured image) and Jenni Toikka’s & Eeva-Riitta Eerola’s The Lighthouse (2019).

The library of Vyborg hosts two video art screenings curated by Ilyushkina, Dafis, and Ilkka Pitkänen. The screenings take place on July 9 and August 20. The first screening includes Milja Viita’s Animal Bridge U-3033 (2018), Simo Saarikoski‘s Abandoned Land (2018), and Pasi Autio’s Meandering (2018).
