Two videos by Jarkko Räsänen, Change (2022) and Supertelevision (2022, in featured image) are screened at international film events. Change is included in “Black Out“, an international short film exhibition open from July 2-17 2022 in Alten Kino, Frankfurt (Oder), Germany. In Change, three artificial intelligences compete for the attention of the viewer.
Supertelevision is included in the experimental showcase of Anibar International Animation Festival, held from July 13-19 2022 in Peja, Kosovo. Supertelevision is an AI-animated dreamlike journey from the insides of a TV screen to the end credits.
Jarkko Räsänen (b. 1984) is multimedia artist focusing on photography, moving image and sound art. He has made video art since 2005, starting with documentations of performative actions. More recently, he has moved towards computer based and algorithmic visual works, including live vj performances with self-made softwares. He is a member of moving image cooperative FixC. Räsänen’s moving image works have been presented in various gallery exhibitions mostly in Finland and Germany, as well as at International Telext Festival goes Ars Electronica, Anthology Archives New York, Papay Gyro Festival Hong Kong & Orkney and Fundacio Joan Miro, Mallorca.
