AV-arkki Webinar Series 2026 introduces the association’s work

AV-arkki will launch a webinar series in spring 2026 that offers a comprehensive introduction to the association’s activities. The series is aimed especially at new artists in the AV-arkki archive, as well as artists and collaborators interested in AV-arkki’s work. Everyone is welcome to participate! The webinars will be held in English. Advance registration is required.

The first webinar will take place on May 28, 2026 and will focus on how new works are acquired into the AV-arkki archive. Participants will also receive a brief introduction to AV-arkki’s collaboration with the Arts Promotion Centre Finland regarding the long-term preservation of media art.

The second webinar will take place on June 4, 2026 and will focus on the festival distribution of experimental audiovisual art. The event will introduce AV-arkki’s festival distribution activities and explain what the festival distribution catalogue is and how artists can submit their works to it. The second part of the webinar will consist of insights and practical advice from one Finnish and one international festival programmer on working within the festival field.

The webinar series will continue in autumn 2026.

Spring and Summer 2026 Webinars

Webinar Part 1: Getting to Know the AV-arkki Archive

AV-arkki Director Hanna Maria Anttila will give a brief introduction to AV-arkki and its activities. AV-arkki Archive Coordinator Vesa Puhakka, together with other AV-arkki staff members, will present the AV-arkki archive and the archive process.

The webinar will address questions such as:

  • What is the AV-arkki archive?
  • How can works be submitted to the archive?
  • What kinds of information and materials need to be provided at different stages of the submission process?

Webinar Part 2: AV-arkki’s Festival Distribution and Tips from Festival Programmers

4 June 2026, 13:00–15:00

AV-arkki Programme Coordinator Avreno Heikka will present AV-arkki’s festival distribution activities. Guest speakers Annu Suvanto, short film programmer for the Love & Anarchy Festival, and Ivan Ramljak, programmer at the International Film Festival Rotterdam, will share practical advice and insights on navigating the festival world.
