
Roi Vaara’s video Artist’s Dilemman (1997) is included in the group exhibition “The Art of Being Good” at Tallinn Art Hall. The exhibition is open from June 22 to September 1. The exhibition looks at the ethics of making art in the complicated world struggling with the current global crisis and is an attempt to produce an visual experience suitable to the seriousness of the situation.

Roi Vaara was born in Moss, Norway and currently lives in Helsinki. He is an internationally acclaimed Finnish performance artist. Vaara studied at the University of Arts and Design in Helsinki during 1972–75 and at Jyväskylä University 1976–77. He has performed over 300 performances and his works have been presented in exhibitions in over 30 countries. Vaara was awarded with Ars Fennica Award in 2005 and with Pro Finlandia honorary medal in 2010. Vaara is a member of the famous performance group Black Market International since 1988. He has lectured and held workshops in art colleges, universities and academies since 1989.
