Jonna Kina’s Somnivm (2018) will have its Italian premiere in the competition of Trento Film Festival, held from April 27 to May 5 in Italy. Founded in 1952, Trento Film Festival is the oldest international film festival dedicated to the mountains, adventure and exploration. The screenings of Somnivm take place on Wednesday, May 1, at 21:15, and on Saturday, May 4, at 15:00.
Relations between anarchism and the marble industry in the quarries of Carrara, in Italy, the chopped mountains, sculpted in time, lost traces of human activity, are present in Somnivm, a seemingly documentary film work. The absence created by the acts of erasing almost all the quarry equipments relating to the contemporary industry in post-production changes the site towards poetic or post-human landscape.
