Sari Palosaari is a visual artist living and working in Helsinki. Her practice is largely focused on exploring material reality. She looks for ways to deconstruct stabilizing signifying systems relating to objects and to instead emphasize affections, relations, interactions, temporality and transience. Palosaari´s work consists of installation, sculpture, performative objects and moving image. She holds an MFA from the Finnish Fine Art Academy and the University of the Arts and Design Helsinki. She has participated in exhibitions, festivals and events widely in Finland and abroad. Her works have been acquired and commissioned to museum collections and to public spaces. Palosaari was awarded with William Thuring Prize 2016.
