Edna Huotari is an artist and a researcher, whose work focuses on social categories and their conceptions. She is particularly interested in social concepts like coolness, psychiatric diagnoses, sin and evil, and uncovering the historical and political webs of meaning surrounding them. She works mainly with moving image and text. Huotari is also a doctoral researcher in a project studying medical knowledge construction and its history.
