{If your bait can sing the wild one will come} Like Shadows Through Leaves
Davis Lucy
One of Singapore’s oldest social housing estates lies alongside a railway that, until 2011, was owned by Malaysia — creating a 10-meter-wide zone of indeterminate governance that cut through the island city. This corridor hosted 150 bird species and a fecund abundance of more-than-human activity. As the land is now being repurposed and residents relocated, we trace the encounters that continue to animate this contested zone — like shadows moving through leaves.
