The artist’s mother lived in Queens, New York, as a small child in the 1950s. In an imaginary letter, the artist wonders what the city must have signified to her mother, who died young. Further, the fact that her grandparents left Finland and settled in Brazil after the Second World War triggers all kinds of questions.
