Mika Taanila's The World at CPH:DOX

Mika Taanila’s short film The World is screened in Project X screening at CPH:DOX, held in Copenhagen from March 16–23.

CPH:DOX, Copenhagen International Documentary Film Festival, is the third largest documentary film festival in the world. Mika Taanila‘s and Jussi Eerola’s feature-length documentary film won the Nordic Award at CPH:DOX 2015.

Taanila’s new short film The World had its world premiere at International Film Festival Rotterdam in January 2017. The image consists of The Man Who Fell to Earth (dir. Nicolas Roeg 1976) evacuated and flipped. In abandoned landscapes, animals, furniture and empty vehicles are left awaiting for disaster. ”We must have died alone, a long long time ago.” (D.B.)

The screenings of The World take place on Saturday, March 18 at 14:00 and Wednesday, March 22 at 21:00 in Kunsthal Charlottenborg.
