Peter and the Wolf
Sakari Tervo
“...I went closer and saw that Peter was there in the middle holding a thousand mark bill and a revolver!" Peter and the Wolf is loosely based on Sergei Prokofiev's composition by the same name (1936), a story of Peter who catches a wolf and takes it to a zoo in a triumphal parade. The video is dominated by longing for the past and hopeful optimism has been replaced by resigned melancholy. The work creates a world where the horizon of a socially excluded person is dominated by his own past.
