Finnish media artists selected for the first Riga International Biennial of Contemporary Art

The first Riga International Biennial of Contemporary Art (RIBOCA1) will be held from 2.6.–28.10.2018. The theme of the RIBOCA1 is “Everything Was Forever Until It Was No More”.

The Riga International Biennial of Contemporary Art (RIBOCA) is an international biennial with a European focus and a strong regional profile, founded in 2016. Taking the rich history of Riga and the Baltic states as its underlying framework, the Biennial highlights the artistic landscape of the wider region and creates opportunities for artists to enter into dialogue with the cultural, historical and socio-political context of the city and its geographic surrounds.

The programme of the RIBOCA1 includes several artists from AV-arkki. Sasha Huber & Petri Saarikko will contribute to the biennial with a newly commissioned work. Also Minna Rainio & Mark Roberts, Jani Ruscica, and IC-98 are included in the selection.
