Jaakko Pallasvuo’s Heterosexual Love Story at Close-Up Film Centre

Jaakko Pallasvuo’s Heterosexual Love Story (2018) is screened at Close-Up Film Centre‘s November Film Festival, held from November 22–24. Pallasvuo’s short film is included in the screening 4, on Friday, November 23, at 20:30.

In Heterosexual Love Story, the filmmaker tiredly narrates a stereotypical, imagined encounter between a man and woman, abroad two different ships passing each other in the night.

Jaakko Pallasvuo (b. 1987) is an internet-based artist working in Helsinki and Berlin. He has studied at the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki. Pallasvuo’s semi-autobiographical video essays revolve around how identities are constructed and performed in networked media environments. Pallasvuo’s work has been shown at Higher Pictures Gallery in New York, Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma in Helsinki, Future Gallery in Berlin and Saamlung Gallery in Hong Kong.
