Eino Ruutsalo
Born: 1921
Eino Ruutsalo (1921–2001) studied painting and drawing in Parsons School of Design in New York (1949–50) and Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki (1952–53). He was one of the most prominent pioneers in Finnish visual and kinetic arts. He was a filmmaker, painter, sculptor and a visual poet. He is well-known for his experimental short films such as Kinetic Pictures (1962). He shot his debut film in New York in the early 1950s.
