Biography in English
Hanna Maria Anttila (born 1974 in Savonlinna, Finland) lives and works in Helsinki, Finland. She has studied at the Academy of Fine Arts, Department of Time and Space Based Art, Helsinki (BFA 2000, MFA 2002), University College London, Slade School of Fine Art, London (1999) and the School of Visual Arts, MFA Department of Photography and Related Media, New York (MFA 2003). She sculpts time and space in order to redefine the experience of physical and psychological distance. Typical characteristics of her work are seductive imagery, formal clarity and precise punctuation.
