The world’s oldest living tree has a 10,000-year-old root system, and only a few know the tree’s location. The installation studies the material quality of film and its reliance on an object in space and time. The temporal is presented visually and spatially: the Super 8 mm format points to the past, whilst the film loop, which is suspended in the room, measures the height of the tree. Next to the projection is a sketch of the tree that took exactly the same time to draw as the filming.
