Scarabée

Scarabée is a video-performance shot and performed in the Sahara desert in 2013. The scarab rolls a dung ball as its daily rutine. In the Egyptian mytology, the holy scarabaeus rolls the sun. In Scarabée, the scarab turns and opens up the view of the Sahara desert. The action is an attempt to open up pictorial space and to find a perfect shot from the vast desert that is the same size as Europe. The attempt is impossible.
