Theme Park and The Apostle selected for the 17th Bunter Hund in Munich, Mar 10 – 13

The short films Theme Park (2015) by Risto-Pekka Blom (b. 1970) and The Apostle (2015) by Juhani Koivumäki (b. 1981) have been selected to participate in Bunter Hund International Short Film Festival through AV-arkkis distribution. The 17th edition of the festival takes place in Munich, Germany between March 10 and 13.
Theme Park participates in the Competition Programme and The Apostle will be screened in the Special Programme.
Blom’s Theme Park is a video about an air-filled balloon figure at a shopping centre. The film won the Main Prize for short film in the National Competition at Tampere Film Festival 2015, and the award for Best Experimental Film at Helsinki Short Film Festival 2015.
Risto-Pekka Blom graduated from Tampere Polytechnic School of Art and Media in 2005. His video art and experimental short films have been exhibited in festivals and events in over twenty countries.
The Apostle is a metaphorical short film about the radical ideas of Jesus of Nazareth, which are facing new forms of interpretations under the pressure of constantly changing needs of society and institutions.
Juhani Koivumäki works with short films and photographs. In his works Koivumäki explores individuals’ universal hurting points and the underlying conflict between the individual and society and their often colliding interests. Many of his short films have been presented in film festivals and screenings around the world since 2002.
