REARRANGED by Ewa Górzna awarded the SILVER MIKELDI FOR FICTION at ZINEBI through AV-arkki's distribution
AV-arkki is pleased to announce that the experimental film Rearranged (2014) by Ewa Górzna (b. 1982) has been awarded the Silver Mikeldi for Fiction at the 57th edition of the International Festival of Documentary and Short Film of Bilbao ZINEBI (13 – 20 November 2015). The prize sum is 3000 euros. The film was selected to the festival through AV-arkki’s distribution.
The ZINEBI Festival has been held in Bilbao, Spain since 1959. Screenings of the official selection take place in three categories (documentary, fiction and animation), and are held in the Arriaga Theatre, official venue for the event. Shorts and documentaries from different countries are chosen for the competition by the selection committee, and compete for the Mikeldi awards. Director Aki Kaurismäki also received the second Mikeldi of Honour prize at the 2015 festival.
Ewa Górzna is a visual artist from Poland who has lived and worked in Helsinki, Finland since 2007. Górzna works with video and video installation. She has graduated in art education at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toru, Poland (2006) and from Time and Space Arts at the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki (2012). Her works have been presented in exhibitions and festivals in e.g. Finland, Iran, France, Italy, Spain, Germany and Poland.
Rearranged is a calmly flowing journey through the space submitted to an unexpected transformation. It reveals a surreal moment when the wild enters the conventional rearranging the established order according to unrestrained turbulent rules.
Rearranged has received attention from many international festivals during the past year, including these venues and prizes:
Paris Festival for Different and Experimental Cinema (FILMS PRIMÉS award)
LUFF – Lausanne Underground Film & Music Festival (Price for Best Experimental Short Film)
Odense International Film Festival (OFF Artist Award)
27th Minimalen Short Film Festival
7th One Take Film Festival in Zagreb, Croatia (Grand Prix)
