Rearranged by Ewa Górzna and After Everything by Pekka Sassi in the International Competition of LUFF, Oct 14 – 18, 2015
The films Rearranged (2014) by Ewa Górzna (b. 1982 in Poland) and After Everything (2014) by Pekka Sassi (b. 1969) have been selected to the Short Films Competition of the Lausanne Underground Film & Music Festival (LUFF).
The festival will take place from October 14 to 18 in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Górzna’s Rearranged is a calmly flowing journey through a space submitted to an unexpected transformation. It reveals a surreal moment when the wild enters the conventional rearranging the established order according to unrestrained turbulent rules.
In August 2015, Górzna won the Artist Award with Rearranged at the Odense International Film Festival. The film participated in the Nordic Competition of the 27th Minimalen Short Film Festival in April 2015, and was awarded with the Grand Prix at the 7th One Take Film Festival in Zagreb, Croatia in 2014.
The film will also be screened at ZINEBI – the International Festival of Documentary and Short Film, taking place in Bilbao, Spain between 13 and 20 November, 2015.
After Everything is a story of two boys in a world where brutality, inhumanity and killing an angel are commonplace and part of everyday routine. The atmosphere of doom is emphasised by the combination of black-and-white footage, harsh settings and industrial noise music. The powerful story leads to a situation in which brutality is victorious, yet beyond total destruction there is also room for a new beginning.
In September 2015, the film participated in the International Competition of the 21st l’Étrange Festival in Paris, France, and the Official Selection of Short México, held in México City.
