Primus Tempus by Azar Saiyar at Sleepwalkers International Short Film Festival in Tallinn, Nov 17 – 21
Azar Saiyar’s (b. 1979) short film Primus Tempus (2014) has been selected to be screened at the next edition of Sleepwalkers International Short Film Festival which will take place in Tallinn, Estonia between 17 – 21 of November, 2015.
Primus Tempus will be screened in the Vitamin Pills programme, presenting short and experimental films on Friday 20 November at 21:30 in SuperNova Cinema.
In the video, reorganized fragments of enchanting and appealing television commercials create an illusion that is different from the original clips. The context and interpretation of the images becomes more vague and open.
The film has been seen at international festivals and events such as VIDEOMEDEJA 2014 in Novi Sad, Serbia; Kino der Kunst in Munich and Dortmund | Cologne International Women’s Film Festival in Germany; MEDIAWAVE 2015 in Komarom, Hungary and INVIDEO 2015 in Milan, Italy.
Azar Saiyar is an Iranian-Finnish visual artist and filmmaker. She grew up in Finland and Sweden, and graduated from Turku Arts Academy as a graphic designer in 2004 and as a director from the Visual Culture MA programme in University of Art and Design Helsinki in 2009. She has worked with film since 2002.
