Maarit Suomi-Väänänen's Log Head @ Montréal Underground FF
Maarit Suomi-Väänänen’s Log Head (2015) is screened at Montréal Underground Film Festival, held from May 19–22. Log Head is included in the programme “Vacuum Preparations for Carrot“, May 20, curated by Anne Golden and Annaëlle Winand.
Premiered at Festival du nouveau cinéma, Montréal, in October 2015, Log Head is an experimental comedy about a birch log with a soul and a pair of skis.
Maarit Suomi-Väänänen (b. 1966) works as a filmmaker and media artist. Her works are shown and awarded in exhibitions, at festivals and on TV over 35 countries. Suomi-Väänänen won the Best Short Film Award in the Festival du Nouveau Cinéma, Montréal Canada 2009 for her work Up and About Again (2009).
